  • Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) Meeting
    ONC, May 7, 2026
During public comments recorded in the May 7 HITAC meeting, the Long-Term and Post-Acute Care Health IT Collaborative called for efforts to accelerate adoption of PACIO Project FHIR® Implementation Guides in long-term and post-acute care settings. The Collaborative also recommended that interoperability projects validate compatibility with PACIO functional status, cognitive status, and transitions of care implementation guides, and highlighted the standardized medication profile implementation guide for medication information during transitions of care.
  • Learn about FHIR
    CMS, Updated March 16, 2026
CMS's "Learn about FHIR" page includes a dedicated PACIO Project section describing PACIO's work to develop FHIR implementation guides and reference implementations for post-acute care data exchange. The page cites PACIO use cases such as functional status, cognitive status, re-assessment time points, advance directives, and other areas central to PACIO's scope.
  • 2026 Interoperability Standards Advisory Reference Edition
    ASTP/ONC, March 2026
The 2026 ISA Reference Edition includes PACIO references in standards contexts related to functional status, cognitive status, and advance directive interoperability. This matters to PACIO because it reflects federal standards advisory recognition of PACIO implementation guide work and related interoperability use cases.
  • The Unseen Bridge: Why Interoperability Is the Heart of Modern Social Work
Health & Social Work / Oxford Academic, March 28, 2026
This article explicitly identifies PACIO and Gravity as projects advancing health interoperability relevant to social work. It describes PACIO's role in clinical transitions, FHIR implementation guides, functional and cognitive status exchange, and use of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health.
  • A Call for Action to Strengthen Stakeholder Readiness for ICF Data Exchange in European Health Data Space: A Structured Narrative Review
Frontiers in Public Health, April 20, 2026
This review cites PACIO as a FHIR-based model for functioning and post-acute care data exchange and notes that a PACIO pilot exchanged patient data across 12 systems using standardized HL7 FHIR resources with ICF as the semantic framework. This matters to PACIO because it shows international recognition of PACIO's work as a practical model for ICF-based interoperability.
